Methodology

How we test stitch markers and row counters

Small tools deserve real testing. Before a notion goes on this site, it goes through the same four checks — and what we find is printed on the product page, including the parts that are not flattering.

Our criteria

  1. Complete rating exports, not cherry-picked samples. We pull every verified buyer rating from the supplier feedback system — all 121 for our marker pack, all 80 for the charm sets — and publish the full distribution. An average can hide a cluster of unhappy buyers; a distribution cannot.
  2. Specs from the sheet, never from memory. Dimensions, counts and weights on our pages come from the supplier spec sheets and card photos. When charm sets have different counts per motif — 5 cats, 7 daisies, 8 starfish, 7 shells — we print each one instead of rounding to a convenient number.
  3. Hands-on stress checks. We open and close clasps fifty times in a row, lock markers through working loops and shake the project in a bag, and count markers in play on our own works in progress. Small tests, but they answer the questions buyers actually ask.
  4. Buyer feedback quoted, not paraphrased. When photo reviews exist, we show them unedited. When a buyer flags a limit — flexible plastic, a thin loop — that quote goes on the product page next to the praise.
  5. Honest limits. Every product page carries at least one honest limitation sourced from real feedback or our own handling. If we cannot find a limit, we have not looked hard enough.

What we won't do

We won't invent expert endorsements, inflate rating counts, or describe a $15 pack of markers as an heirloom purchase. Instead we back every order with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so the risk is on us, not you.
